When do you give Pharmahorse Immunity Shot?
Pharmahorse Immunity Shot can be used at/after:
- Newborn and/or weak foals
- Mare with insufficient antibodies in colostrum
- Weaning off foals
- Vaccination
- Deworming
- Illness or medication (anti-inflammatories, antibiotics)
- A stressful period such as moving house or intense competition season
- Horses and ponies with a weakened immune system

Immune system
Developing a strong immune system is hugely important for newborn foals. When a foal is born, its immune system is still incomplete and needs to develop. Colostrum contains antibodies that are crucial in building this immune system. A foal's intestinal barrier is only open in the first 24 hours after birth. This allows antibodies to be absorbed into the blood and thus not just locally in the intestines. Therefore, it is essential for a foal to ingest colostrum within a few hours of birth.
Administering natural colostrum powder can support during the primary immunisation of foals. The colostrum powder in this paste provides a high variety of antibodies.
Moreover, the amount of antibodies in colostrum can vary from mare to mare. The administration of colostrum powder supplements the proportion of antibodies when a foal is low in antibodies.
Good immunity is also important in adult horses for strong resistance. It can happen that a horse's immune system weakens, for example due to moving, illness or after a vaccination. To maintain your horse's resistance, a number of factors are important.
First of all, specific vitamins, minerals and trace elements, among others, are essential for the horse's body to function optimally.
Moreover, it is important that a horse has enough antibodies to fight off pathogens.
Digest
A newborn foal's gut flora, like its immune system, is not well developed. Bad bacteria and pathogens can enter foals' intestines, potentially disrupting their gut flora.
Prebiotics can help develop healthy intestinal flora. This is hugely important for both foals and adult horses and ponies. Horses with digestive problems and/or weakened intestinal health can greatly benefit from administering prebiotics.

Dosage:
Foals:
- 1 full syringe after first colostrum intake within the first 4h after birth. In case of weak foal repeat 2nd syringe after 24 hours
CAUTION: in small ponies such as shetlanders, half a syringe is sufficient
Adult horses and ponies:
- At vaccination, deworming, feeding adjustment, competition, stress period: 1 full syringe 12 hours beforehand + 2nd syringe 24 hours afterwards
- On recovery after illness or after prolonged period of antibiotics/inflammatories: 1 full syringe and repeat 2nd syringe if necessary after 24 hours
- As an energy boost: 1 full syringe for a horse of +/- 600kg
Content: 1 syringe is 32 ml.
Instructions for use: Immunity Shot can be administered orally.
Storage recommendation: The product should be stored in a cool, dry place in the original packaging, beyond the reach of children.
